Latricia Denise Carson was born on Tuesday, February 15, 1972, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Henry Carson and the late Rachel Carson. She was the oldest of their three children. She departed this earthly life on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at her home in Tampa, Florida.

Latricia was a member of Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church. She was educated in the Chattanooga Public School System and graduated from Kirkman Technical High School in 1990. Latricia attended Chattanooga Barber College and became a master stylist. She enjoyed everything in the beauty industry. She loved the beach, dancing, and singing karaoke even though she couldn’t sing that well.

Latricia was family-oriented, a devoted grandmother to her “Glam-Children” whom she gave nicknames. She was proud of her children and their accomplishments so much so that she declared her son’s college degree as her “fifth Glam-child”.

Latricia was preceded in death by her mother, Rachel Carson; grandmother, Sarah McComb; and best friend, Elizabeth Bodaly.

She leaves to cherish precious memories: husband, Douglas Virgilio Silva, Orlando; son, Jerome Lindsey, Memphis; daughters, Alexia Dave, Tallia Barnette, both of Tampa; father, Henry Carson, Chattanooga; sisters, Felicia (Adrian) Morgan, Chattanooga, Erica Carson, Lithia Springs, Ga.; grandchildren, “Leader Of The Pack” Zyon Thomas, Mylia “Tootlebutton” Taylor, Zayn “Zaythoven” Thomas, Mackenzie “Bullet” Barnette, all of Tampa; niece, Brianna “Auntie” Epps, Chattanooga; nephew, Derayl Helton, Coalinga, Ca.; a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, at Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church, 1734 E. Third Street, 37404.

Courtesy announcement is by John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 423 622-9995.
