  • Monday, April 29, 2024

AGC East Tennessee, in partnership with Building Leaders of Chattanooga, announces the return of the BIG PIG BBQ Festival, presented by Food City. Taking place at the First Horizon Pavilion, this event is back for its fourth year, bringing BBQ, live entertainment, and family-friendly festivities.

Organized as a fundraiser for the Construction Career Center, the BIG PIG BBQ Festival invites attendees to witness teams showcase their grilling prowess in a friendly competition. BIG PIG will open its doors to the public on Saturday, May 11, from 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m., offering attendees a chance to sample a variety of barbecue creations.

The festival will feature live music and a beer garden for adult attendees to enjoy, while families can explore the touch-a-truck exhibit, games and other activities. One of the highlights of the BIG PIG BBQ Festival is the BIG PIG Judging Panel Contest, where a panel of judges will crown the top barbecue team. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to cast their votes for the People's Choice Awards.

"BIG PIG is not just about barbecue; it's a gateway to community involvement and a vital pillar of support for the Construction Career Center," said Forrest Catron, co-chair of the BIG PIG Committee. "Being part of the event's planning has been incredibly fulfilling, witnessing firsthand the unwavering dedication and support of our community. It's truly heartening to witness our community rallying behind the future leaders of the construction industry."

Proceeds from the BIG PIG BBQ Festival directly benefit the Construction Career Center, providing funding for training programs, scholarships and resources for aspiring construction professionals. Whether purchased online or at the door, every ticket sold contributes to the future of tomorrow's workforce.
