HCSO Deputy Chief Of Law Enforcement Mark King Awarded Respect For Law Officer Of The Year Award

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and the Scenic Chattanooga Optimist Club announced that on Tuesday morning, HCSO Deputy Chief of Law Enforcement, Mark King, was named this year’s recipient of the “Respect for Law Officer of the Year Award.” On hand for the celebration were numerous members of the HCSO executive staff, his law enforcement colleagues, and members of his family. Deputy Chief King is a 38-year veteran of the HCSO and is being recognized for his decades of service to the HCSO and our community in recognition of his formal retirement scheduled for May 28, 2024. It's a shame we have so many gun battles in certain parts of the city. An outside could come in, look at a map with the number of gun incidents and quickly formulate that most of inside Chattanooga city limits, there is a problem. There should always be a police presence in that area due to the close proximity of UTC housing...either on foot, bicycle or stationary cars. The Montgomery Biscuits (12-10) came back from a two-run deficit and won 3-2 in 10 innings on a walk-off walk against the Chattanooga Lookouts (5-16) on Tuesday night at Riverwalk Stadium. Brendan McKay threw a season-high 74 pitches and completed five innings for the first time since 2019 in his fifth start of the season.
