UTC Student Chamyra Teasley Wins Harold Love Outstanding Community Service Award

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga junior Chamyra Teasley has been honored with the prestigious Harold Love Outstanding Community Service Award, given by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission to 10 individuals in higher education throughout the state who demonstrate a lasting, meaningful impact through service; are valued by peers and community leaders; and embody the legacy of the late Rep. Harold Love Sr.—the namesake of the award. Ms. Teasley, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering management with a minor in political science, has packed a lifetime’s worth of memories into one academic year. Ivy Academy Receives Explore The Trades Skills Lab Grant

The “Explore The Trades Skills Lab, Built by Ferguson” equipment grants were announced on Wednesday in celebration of National Skilled Trades Day. Twelve schools, including Ivy Academy, are the newest recipients of the Skills Lab equipment grants, which are projected to reach over 1,000 students this upcoming school year. It's a shame we have so many gun battles in certain parts of the city. An outside could come in, look at a map with the number of gun incidents and quickly formulate that most of inside Chattanooga city limits, there is a problem. There should always be a police presence in that area due to the close proximity of UTC housing...either on foot, bicycle or stationary cars. The Montgomery Biscuits (12-10) came back from a two-run deficit and won 3-2 in 10 innings on a walk-off walk against the Chattanooga Lookouts (5-16) on Tuesday night at Riverwalk Stadium. Brendan McKay threw a season-high 74 pitches and completed five innings for the first time since 2019 in his fifth start of the season.
