Armed Forces Parade Steps Off May 3

  • Friday, April 12, 2024

One of the reasons that Chattanooga is labeled the most patriotic city in these United States is that Chattanooga is home to the longest continuous running of the Armed Forces Parade with 2024 becoming the 75th year.  In special recognition of this 75th year, all branches of the country’s military will be honored.  Further, Chattanooga’s own Four-Star General B. B. Bell, U. S. Army (Retired) will be the parade marshal and the keynote speaker at the luncheon following the parade.

The parade will step off on Friday, May 3, at 10:30 a.m. from the intersection of M. L. King and Market Streets. The parade will continue down Market Street to West Aquarium Way, turning left and finishing at Chestnut Street. This is the same route as the parade honoring Medal of Honor recipient, Captain Larry Taylor last September.

If an organization would like to participate in the parade, please go to www.chattareaveterans.com click on the tab “Armed Forces Parade” then Parade Application.

The Armed Forces Parade Luncheon follows the parade at noon at the Chattanooga Convention Center. As noted, Four Star General B. B. Bell, U. S. Army (Retired) will be the keynote speaker.  Reservations for the luncheon can be made at www.Chattareaveterans.com then click on the “Armed Forces Parade” tab then 75th Armed Forces Parade Luncheon.

If additional information is needed or for a speaker request, please contact Captain Mickey McCamish, U. S. Navy (Retired) at mickey@riverbendfestival.com or Linda Moss Mines at localhistorycounts@gmail.com.
