Covenant Men's Golf Finish Regular Season With Fifth Conference Tournament Finish

After a strong regular season, Men's Golf ended its 2023-24 campaign at the CCS Championship hosted at Dalton Country Club.

The Scots finished fifth place at 59-over par, two shots back of LaGrange who claimed fourth place. Covenant saved its best golf for day three, as it shot 12-over as a team, which was 11 shots better than its second-best round.s

Leading the way in his first CCS Championship was freshman Drew Silman at 8-over par and a tied 8th finish. The Louisiana native opened with rounds of 74 and 79, before ending the week with a round of 1-under, 71, that jumped him four spots up the leaderboard.
Tied eighth is the best Conference Championship finish for any Covenant golfer in its NCAA era.

Kenny Duffin battled all week and took home a tied for 15th result with a score of 17-over par. The senior posted rounds of 77, 80, and 76. This marks the second-straight year Duffin has placed inside the top 15 of the Conference Championship. 

Also shooting 17-over par and finishing tied for 15th was Garrett Boggs. The sophomore shot in the 70s all three days with rounds of 79, 76, and 78. His score of 76 in rainy playing conditions, was the best of any Covenant golfer in round two.

Wiley Hickerson claimed 24th place with a three-day total of 22-over par. After posting rounds of 81 and 82 the first two days, the Gainesville, Georgia native closed the tournament with an impressive round of 75. 

Rounding out Covenant's lineup was Titus Cooke who finished 30th with a score of 29-over par. A second round score of 77 was his best performance of the week after opening and ending the week with rounds of 84.

UP NEXT: Covenant will turn its attention to the NCAA Division III selection show on May 6 to see if any players qualified for the NCAA Championship as an individual.
