U.S. Army Veteran, Loved To Play Golf

Jerald “Jerry” Patrick Kane, 91, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 12, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Indianapolis, In. to the late Joseph W. and Esther M. Kane. Jerry received his Bachelors of Science from the University of Indianapolis. He played Minor League Baseball with the Brooklyn Dodgers and Pittsburg Pirates Farm Teams. Jerry was a U.S. Army Korean Conflict veteran serving our country for three years. He was the recipient of the Ambassador of Peace Award for his service during the Korean Conflict. Jerry was in the Carpet Industry before starting his own company, Dynamic Industries, where he served as President. He loved to play golf and was a member of the Brainerd Golf Course. Jerry was a longtime member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. The church family was like a second family to him.

Jerry was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Anne Marie “Nancy” Kane, who died on Oct. 5, 2022, and a grandson, Timothy Alexander “Tanz” Kane.

He is survived by his four children, Kathleen Clark, of Roswell, Ga., J. Patrick Kane, Jr., of Statham, Ga., Peggy Humphreys (Wes), of Knoxville, Tn. and Timothy Sean Kane, of Libertyville, Il.; 10 grandchildren, Ryan, Sam, Kevin, Brandon, Katie (Ray), Christopher (Allison), Brennan (Alex), Emily (Jeff), Bailey and fiancée’ Madeline Leonard, and Challie (Christian); eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga and Martin Boyd Christian Home for the exceptional care and love Jerry received. A special note of thanks to the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home for taking such great care of our family during this difficult time in our lives.

A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 3 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 7111 Lee Hwy., Chattanooga, Tn. 37421, with Father Manuel Perez officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:30-11 a.m. on Friday, May 3 at St. Stephen Catholic Church.
