Chattanooga junior Acelynn Sellers cleared the fence in left center to lead the Mocs to a 1-0 win over Georgia State in the final home game of the regular season.
With one out and nobody on base, Sellers hit her third home run of the year to put Chattanooga out front of the Panthers and it would be all the Mocs needed.
Sellers went 2-for-2 with one RBI on a home run. Camryn Cernuto led off the fourth with a hit and went 1-for-3. Cenuto led off the bottom of the fourth with a single and the Mocs loaded the bases with two outs, but couldn’t get any across the plate.
Izzy Alley got the start and threw four scoreless innings and struck out one.
Taylor Long returned to the circle, throwing two innings with one strikeout and got her 12th win of the season. Peja Goold closed out the game and earned her second save.
Georgia State drops to 11-39 on the year. Chattanooga improved to 35-13 overall and will travel to Western Carolina for the final Southern Conference series of the season with a double header Saturday and the finale Sunday.
