Owen, Ruby Mae Seay (Dalton)

Ruby Mae Seay Owen, 96, of Dalton, Georgia, died Saturday, January 14, 2016 at her residence.

She was the daughter of the late James and Dora Duggan Seay; and was also preceded in death by her husband Robert Oliver Owen, Sr.

Ruby was a member of Cove United Methodist church. Ruby had a soft spot in her heart for stray cats and would care for them as if they were her own. Her loves were sewing, gardening, flowers, quilting and cooking. Ruby was a ‘True Homemaker'.

She is survived by her sons, Robert Owen and John Owen both of Dalton; sister, Bessie Shelton of Alabama; grandchildren, Rob Owen, Tracy Owen White and Sonya Covington; great-grandchildren, Melina White, Mekala White, Sydney Covington, Olivia Owen and Bo Owen; special nephew and niece, Ronnie and Cheryl Shelton; and other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 17 in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cove Methodist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Monday, January 16 from 5 to 9 p.m.
