Gail Willis, 81, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 3, 2024.

A resident of Chattanooga for the past 57 years, Mrs. Willis retired from the Hamilton County Tax Assessor’s Office after 42 years of service.

She was an active member of Shelter Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles (Chuck) Willis; and her parents, Howard (Jenk) and Violet Gardner.

She is survived by her daughters, Tammy (Randy) Gribble, Chattanooga; Vickie (Rich) Towery, Ringgold; son, David (Tracy) Brown, Dallas, GA; brother, Mike Gardner, Chattanooga; seven grandchildren, Amanda Thompson, Abbie Blake, Kraig Guffey, Kevin Guffey, Katie Moreland, Kody Brown and Kassie Brown; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sterling Jetton officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens with Kevin Guffey, Kraig Guffey, Kody Brown, Timothy Thompson, Tony Blake, and Chris Moreland serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 7 from 6-8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
