Robert J. Gerskin, 72, of Ooltewah, passed away Monday, November 30, 2015, at his home.  

He was born in Saginaw, Michigan to the late John and Harriett Gerskin. 

Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served in the Air Police. He retired as an American History teacher and taught at Red Bank Middle School. He was a gifted artist and enjoyed painting and working with stained glass.

He was of the Catholic faith. 

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Gerskin of Ooltewah, son and daughter-in-law, Max and Ashley Gerskin of Chattanooga, and sister, Gwen Franz, of Alpharetta, Ga. 

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. 

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
