Coolidge National Medal of Honor Heritage Center will hold its first MURPH Challenge. 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Named for Lt. Michael P. Murphy who was killed in 2005 in Afghanistan. The competition begins with a one-mile run, followed with 100 pullups, 200 pushups, 300 squats and another mile run, all while wearing a 20-pound vest. The competition will last five to six hours and beer will be served during the last 45 minutes to celebrate finishing the course.

The Tennessee Valley Lineman Rodeo Competition at the Tennessee Riverpark. Begins with an opening ceremony at 1 p.m. followed by events. Day two of competition runs from 7 a.m. through early afternoon. Free. Events for kids.

RiseUP Cooperative will host Adventure Trek, an all-ages scavenger hunt that will take participants of all ages across downtown Chattanooga in search of clues, treats and prizes from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., starting at the Chattanooga Green and going thought Chattanooga's downtown district. The 2024 Scopes Trial play Destiny in Dayton will be offered. Tickets for play performances on July 12, 13 and 19 are $30. Tickets for Saturday, July 20, are $90, and include dinner with the cast on the courthouse lawn.
