Wes Moore is stepping down as the Head Boys Basketball Coach and Girls Varsity Assistant at Chattanooga Christian School.

He will be an assistant to the girls basketball team at Boyd-Buchanan.

Officials said, "Several life, work, and education changes resulted in his decision to exit. We’re thankful for Coach Moore’s contributions to the CCS basketball program, including his mentorship and recruitment of a stellar assistant coaching staff. He’s leaving the program in a strong position, and we’re excited to see the program continue to grow.

"In a short amount of time, Coach Moore and his staff have helped reveal the potential for basketball at CCS. Wes completes his tenure with strong wins over Boyd, Notre Dame, and McCallie School in 23/24, runner-up in the Best of Preps Tournament (with three all-tournament players), and having coached a Tennessee Mr. Basketball Finalist. Wes has been a member of our basketball staff for seven years, and he will be missed on our boys and girls staff."

Moore was named the CCS coach in March in March 2022.

The 1996 graduate of CCS was a member of the 1996-1997 UTC team that made a Cinderella run to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament. A four-year starting point guard, he led the UTC men’s basketball team to the NCAA Tournament as their all-time leader in steals and assists.
