Marion T. Duke, 84, of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at his residence.

Marion was born in Chattanooga on September 5, 1934 to the late Jesse and Florence Duke. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a retired crane operator.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Tommy and Floyd Duke.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda G. Duke; daughter, Connie Schmitz and husband, Wayne; daughter, Tracey Ganshorn; son, Mike Duke; Step-children, Darell Patterson and wife, Kim, Jeffery Patterson, and David Patterson and wife, Cathy; and sister, Doris Maples.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, Sept. 16, from 2-5 p.m. and Monday, Sept. 17, from 1-2:30 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home in Hixson.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of Chattanooga (East) for the loving care they gave during Marion’s illness.

Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
