Ann Brooker
Ann Brooker, age 89, of the Pleasant Grove Community, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Hamilton Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Lewis Brooker; parents, Jim and Leo Hemphill; brothers, James and Tom Hemphill; and sister, Jean and R.L. Herron.
Mrs. Brooker was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. She was active in the Golden Age Adult Ministry and the Girl Scouts. She was an avid bowler, loved NASCAR and going camping. She especially like watching her family play sports and going to Northwest Bruin sporting events. Her favorite bible verse was “Psalms 118:24 “This is the day that the Lord made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Survivors include her loving husband of 69 years, Jack Brooker; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Sally Brooker, Jackie and Joyce Brooker, all of Dalton; daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Mike Kirk, Sallie Thomas and Jean and Gary Carter, all of Dalton; sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Steve Arthur of Kingsport, Tn.; brother and sister-in-law, Morrison and Pat Hemphill of Auburn, Al.; grandchildren, Jerry and Lisa Brooker, Casey and Eric Kyer, Courtney and Khale Kinnamon, Jake and Jennifer Brooker, Jason and Sharon Brooker, James and Katie Brooker, Sam Brooker, Chrissie Kirk, Drew and Heather Carter, Callie and Aaron Osborn, Kelsey and Chad Ikerd, John and Chelsey Brooker, Brooks and Paige Carter, Katie Kirk and Colby Thomas; and great-grandchildren, MaKray, MaLane and MaKara Kyer, Maggie and Jase Brooker, Whitley, Hallie and Jax Brooker, Collin, Clara, Karcy, Kirby, Cooper, Carver and Keaton Kinnamon, Jeb, Owen and Annie Brooker, Judd and Lilli Brooker, Colt Seimer, Makenzi and Averie Osborn, and Camryn Carter.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, Oct. 21, at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Mullis and Rev. Dean Milford officiating. Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home Saturday, Oct. 20, from 4-8 p.m.
