SMMHS Sports Boosters Host Zombie 5K/1 Mile Fun Trail Run And Halloween Fest

Signal Mountain's first Zombie 5K Trail Run, 1 mile "not so scary" fun run and Halloween Festival benefiting the Signal Mountain Middle High Sports Boosters will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29 at McCoy Farm, 1715 Anderson Pike on Signal Mountain from 5-9:30 p.m. 

There are several options for family members of all ages.

1 - 5 p.m. - 1 mile Trail Fun Run for the whole family (same day registration starts at 4 p.m. and closes at 4:50 p.m.)

2 - 5:30 p.m.
- Halloween Fest which will include lots of family friendly activities including: huge inflatable maze, human inflatable foosball, Zorb ball, smashing pumpkin baseball, pumpkin decorating, hayride, face painting, and zombie photo booth. 

Entertainment will include a DJ, TV for college football games, the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown outdoor movie, and Signal Mountain's only Haunted Barn, sponsored by Jay Robinson Team Realty, which opens at dusk.

Concessions will include food and drink trucks, plus corn dogs and brats, provided by Pruett's. 

3 - 5:30 p.m. - Zombie 5K Trail Run where zombies try to grab flags off your flag belt. If you finish the race with a flag, you're a "Survivor". If the zombies get your flag, you're "Infested." (same day registration starts at 4 p.m. and closes at 5:20 p.m.)

Cost is $25 a runner if you register in advance with a guaranteed t-shirt, plus five Halloween Fest tickets with a $150 family cap, if you sign up before Oct. 15 at signalzombierun.com, or pay $30 a person if you sign up on race day. The first 300 5K Zombie Run participants are guaranteed flags. Additional flags are available for $5 (2 flags) until Oct. 15. 

Pick up your packets in advance from two different locations:

- Thurs. Oct. 27 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at Fleet Feet, 307 Manufacturers Road; or
- Fri. Oct. 28 from 2-5:30 p.m. at Pruett's Food Market, 1210 Taft Hwy.

You can also register for the race at packet pick up locations. 

Pre-purchase festival tickets before Saturday, Oct. 15.  Tickets are $1 each (booths range from $1 to $5).  Save money when you purchase tickets in groups (55 tickets for $50, 85 tickets for $75, 120 tickets for $100).  Tickets will also be available for purchase on site with cash.  Purchase an unlimited activity wristband for $30 each (limited quantity - excludes food trucks/concessions and includes two turns on smashing pumpkin baseball).

A shuttle to McCoy Farms will run from 4:30-9:30 p.m.  Patrons can board the shuttle at three locations:  Berkshire Hathaway Realty, Pruett's Food Market, and Walden Commons shopping center.
