Lewis “Sonny” Hanna Alexander, Jr.
Lewis “Sonny” Hanna Alexander Jr., 60, died on Saturday, July 16, 2016.
He was born April 22, 1956 to Lewis Hanna Alexander Sr. and Wanda Jean Vincent (Roden) in Talladega, Al. Sonny was of the Baptist faith, baptized at 12 years old at Bethel Baptist Church, Chickamauga. He attended Pond Spring Elementary and Gordon Lee High School. He served honorably in the US Army from 1973-1976, last duty HHC 3d BDE 101st Airborne and was awarded the National Defense Service Metal and Parachutist Badge. He was employed by TVA at Sequoyah Nuclear Plant. He owned his own business, Fabtech, Inc. in Loudon, Tn., and was currently employed at Mercedes Benz, Birmingham.
Sonny loved family, drag racing, singing, playing guitar, and generally having a good time in everything he did. Sonny was loved by his friends and family and will be greatly missed, a wonderful person who gave so much and expected so little.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis; brother, Lawrence T. Turner and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Wanda (Fred C.) Roden, Chickamauga, his children, Jason and Ludy Alexander of Lafayette, Angela Alexander Cooper, of Napersville, IL, Shawna Alexander Silcott, Knoxville; brother, Freddie (Maryann) Roden Lafayette; sisters, Deborah Roden Durham, Chickamauga, Devoria Roden Johnson and Tony Sylvester, Harrison; six grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. A special mention for his cousin Alex Ethridge, Birmingham.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 25, in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
