Dalton State Volleyball Falls In Season Opener

Columbia, Ky. – The Dalton State season opener ended in defeat in the Lindsey Wilson Volleyball Classic at the Halloway Center. The University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) handed the Roadrunners a 3 sets to one loss.

The Patriots scored the final two points of the first set to win a close one, 26-24. The Roadrunners scored the last two points of the second set to also win 26-24.

The third set saw a tie at 12, but after that closest DS could get was 18-17.  Cumberland scored seven of the final 10 points for the 15-20 win.  The Patriots dominated the final set, 25-16.

Savannah Nelson finished the match with 10 kills.

Kianna Delaney had eight kills and 10 digs. Michala Askew had 21 assists and 14 digs. Anna Metzler finished with seven kills and nine digs. Marta Guntin added six kills and 17 digs. Clarissa Weber had 13 assists and five digs.
