Rosie Mae Clemons, 93, died on July 27, 2015 peacefully at a local health care facility.  

She was born May 25, 1922 to the late Nathaniel Ervin and Mary Sandford. 

Mrs. Clemons united with New Hope Baptist Church in Limestone County, Al., where the late Reverend Willie Holden was pastor.

She was preceded in death by her, husband, Eli Clemons and children, Bernice Pickett and Georgia Mae Clemons.

Rosie Mae is survived by her children, Ernest, Emanuel, Flora, Roland, Jacob, Estella Clemons and Ernestine Toney, all of Chattanooga; 31 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 50 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 4, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.

The body will lie in state after noon on Monday, and the family will receive friends from 6–7 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
