Tommie Davis
Tommie Landen Davis, 96, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, died on Thursday June 25, 2015.
A lifelong resident of the Tunnel Hill area, she was a member of the Tunnel Hill First Baptist Church. Tommie was a former employee of Damze Industries where she worked for over 40 years, retired as manager and was a member of the Tunnel Hill Order of the Eastern Star where she served as past Worthy Matron.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Cumbie “Bill” Davis; parents, Ray and Hattie Smith Landen; brother, Ed Landen; grandson, Whitt Sandlin and sister, Edith Landen Middleton.
She is survived by two children, Thomas Ray (Elaine) Davis of Cumming, Ga., and Dianne Davis (Sherry) Cole of Tunnel Hill.; seven grandchildren, Greg Sheram of Rocky Face, GA, Terri Whittington of Royston, GA, Jane Sandlin of Cumming, GA, Warren Davis of Atlanta, Chase (Lisa) Duer of Woodstock, GA, Brett Cole of Tunnel Hill, and Jonathan Cole of Tunnel Hill; seven great-grandchildren, Sara Whittington of Woodstock, GA, TSgt. Travis Sandlin of Athens, GA, Rebecca Griffiths of Cornelia, GA, Spc. Tucker Sheram of Gainesville, GA, Cody Borstel of Toccoa, GA, Anna Duer of Woodstock, GA, and Max Duer of Woodstock, GA, and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 3, at the Tunnel Hill First Baptist Church with Reverend Dewey Boyd officiating. A reception will follow the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
