Jimmy Blassingame, 73, of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015 at his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony & Lillie Blassingame; father-in-law and mother-in-law, A.C. & Jessie Clark; sister-in-law, Carol Blassingame; and brother-in-law, Robert Clark.
He was a member of Varnell Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann Clark Blassingame of the residence; daughter & son-in-law, Denise & Royce Chance of Cohutta; son & daughter-in-law, Todd & Lisa Blassingame of Dalton; sisters and a brother-in-law, Rosetta & Frank Winkler of Chatsworth and Kathleen Stephens of Chattanooga; brother, Harvey Blassingame of Etowah; sister-in-law and brother-in-law. Margie & Winfred Hackney; special grandchildren, Eric & Jessica Chance, Olivia & Cody Hamill, Gracie Blasssingame, Corey Blassingame and Cody Blassingame; nieces and nephews, Christian and Nathan; and special cousin, Juanita Caldwell.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, May 24, at 4 p.m. at Varnell Baptist Church with Rev. Bret Bellamy officiating. Burial will be in Varnell Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, May 23 from 5-8 p.m.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Varnell Baptist Church, P.O. Box 160, Varnell, GA 30756.
