Ricky Joe Hullender, 60, of Fort Oglethorpe, died on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at a local health care facility.
He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area and was a United States Navy Veteran having served during the Vietnam Era. For the majority of his life he worked as a carpenter alongside his dad and he also worked at several restaurants in the area including the Country Bumpkin, Cracker Barrel, and Cochran’s Truck Stop. His passions in life were playing the piano, the organ, and writing.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Sue Newport; father, Roy Frank Hullender, Sr.; brothers, James “Jimmy” Randall Hullender and Roy “Rusty” Frank Hullender, Jr.
Survivors include his sisters, Pixie (Daryl) Longley of Fort Oglethorpe, Sharon (Walt) Brackett of Tunnel Hill, and Teresa (Larry) Goode of Ringgold; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, Dec. 4, at 11:30 a.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
