Shayne Eugene Mathena, 55, of Ringgold, Georgia, died on Wednesday, November 25, 2015.
Shayne was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Shayne loved the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Blackhawks, and the Minnesota Vikings. He loved to travel with his family and see new places. He was a long time member at Moriah Baptist Church in Fort Oglethorpe, and served as treasurer for several years. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota. He was an actuary for Provident Insurance and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee for many years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Sally Mathena.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Donna Holden Mathena; step-sons, Eric (Julie) and Adam (Brandy) Wilson of Fort Oglethorpe; grandchildren, Bailee, Lincoln, and Leah Wilson; mother-in-law, Agnes Scogin of Fort Oglethorpe, four brothers, Brian (Kim), Texas, Greg (Kim), Illinois, Mitchell (Jean), Indiana, Sheldon (Sue), Minnesota, and three sisters, Marlene (Doug), Tennessee, Leda (Tracy), Tennessee, and Dayna (Kenneth), Tennessee.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 27, from 2-8 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home in Rossville.
A celebration of his life and funeral service will be on Saturday, Nov. 28, at Lane Funeral Home at 12 p.m. Pastor Randy Lynn will be officiating. Burial services will follow at Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park.
