Carolyn Tipps
Carolyn Smith Tipps, 83, of Hixson, died on Tuesday, November 24, 2015.
Carolyn has been a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and a graduate of City High School. She retired from Dupont. Carolyn was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church. She loved birds and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donaldson Paul Tipps; son, David “Randy” Tipps; and her parents, Harry and Lillian Smith; son-in-law, Bill Chauncey.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Linda Chauncey and husband Frank White; grandchildren, Brian Chauncey and wife, Stephanie, Brett, Brandon and Myles Tipps; great-granddaughter, Olivia Tipps; and many other loving family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 29, and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Services for Carolyn will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Barry Wilks officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carolyn’s name to Brainerd Baptist Church Mission Fund, 300 Brookfield Ave., Chattanooga, Tn. 37411, for Brian and Stephanie.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
