Edwin “Ed” Young, 74, of Ooltewah, died on Tuesday, October 6, after an extended illness. 

Ed was devoted to his church and so enjoyed greeting and singing in the choir.  Ed loved sports and faithfully cheered for the Tennessee Volunteers, Peyton Manning with the Denver Broncos, and Atlanta Braves. Ed worked for many years at Mills and Lupton before retiring from Walter A Wood.  He always loved to laugh and see friends.  He was a devoted husband and father. 

Ed is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pat; daughter, Kristin Young and granddog, Max.

Visitation will be at the Ooltewah Seventh-Day Adventist Church on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 2 p.m. with the service to follow at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to It Is Written, P.O. Box 6, Chattanooga, Tn. 37401.
