Barbee, Virginia "Janie" (Harrison)

Virginia “Janie” Barbee, 85, of Harrison, TN, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 in a Collegedale health care facility.

Mrs. Barbee was the daughter of the late Effie Stevens Harden and Robert “Bob” Harden; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lee Barbee; her sons, Charles Lamar Barbee and Chester Barbee; her daughter, Brenda Gail Barbee; her grandson, Jeffery Barbee; her sisters, Inez Clark and Susie Posey; and her brothers, Bud, Ira and Junior Harden.

Mrs. Barbee enjoyed working in her flower garden, sewing, working on crafts and crocheting. She attended the Church of God.

Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn Monds and Donna Parke both of Harrison, Patricia Harrison of Walker County and Linda Giamportone of Harrison; her son, Randall Barbee of Harrison; her 22 grandchildren; her 39 great-grandchildren; her five great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Martha Morgan, Alice “Sis” Lowe and her husband David all of Harrison and Lennie Bettis and her husband Jimmy of Georgetown; her brother, Reverend Landon Harden and his wife Lois of Decatur; and several nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Monday, January 26, at 2 p.m. from the North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Reverend Ronnie Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Williamson Cemetery in Harrison with family and friends serving as casket bearers. A Dove release will conclude the service.

Jim Rush Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
