Barbara Buchanan Barker, 82, of Georgetown, Tennessee, died on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at a local hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Hall and Lois Buchanan and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Charlie” B. Barker, son, Stephen B. Barker and brother, Bernard Buchanan.

Barbara retired from Erlanger Hospital as a registered nurse. She was active for many years with the Sundown Patrol and worked along with her husband patrolling Chickamauga Lake to provide rescue to those in need. She was also active in her community as a Civitan’s wife and made scarves for the homeless and quilted blankets to give to nursing homes, children’s hospitals and others.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Suzie and Kito Cintron, of Georgetown, two grandchildren, Mat Turner, of Chattanooga, Jessica Barker, Elizabethtown, Pa., and a daughter-in-law, Kathy Barker, of Elizabethtown, Pa..

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 1, at Greenwood Cemetery.
