Randall A. Johnson, 88, of Dunlap, Tennessee, died on Wednesday, November, 19, 2014 at Life Care Center of Sparta, Tn.

He was born on April 22, 1926, to the late Joseph A. and Flossie Foust Johnson in Mount Airy, Tn. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a radio operator on the USS HYMAN-DD732 in the South Pacific. After his service in the Navy, Randall worked in and operated the family business of Pope & Johnson store. He later worked with the U.S. Postal Service until retirement in 2008 at the age of 82.

He loved his church, family and friends and was active in the community. He was a member of the Bethel Church of Christ. He served on the Sequatchie County Commission for 32 years ending in 2006. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and American Legion. He was also an avid Atlanta Braves baseball and UT football fan.

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his wife, Stewart Clack Johnson; two brothers, Quay and Dennis Johnson; two sisters, Marie Freeman and Ramah Mosley.

He is survived by his daughter, Mary Jane (Eddie) Nipper, Cookeville, TN; son, Joe (Jan) Johnson, Chesterfield, MO; four grandchildren, Eric Nipper, Cookeville, TN; Rachel Nipper, Hixson, TN; Emily Johnson, University City, MO; and Tyler Johnson, Chesterfield, MO.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 11 a.m. CST in the funeral home chapel with Minister T.A. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Johnson-Lewis Cemetery in Bledsoe County. Military honors provided by Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard.

Family will receive friends on Friday, from 3-8 p.m. CST, and from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
