The Salvation Army of Chattanooga announces the 48th Annual Easter Sunrise Service at Chattanooga National Cemetery at 1200 Bailey Ave. The service is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday, March 31, and will be open to the public.
Major Douglas McClure, area commander for The Salvation Army in Chattanooga, emphasized the importance of this event, saying, “As we gather at Chattanooga National Cemetery on Easter morning, we not only celebrate the resurrection of our Savior, but also honor the courageous men and women who have selflessly served our nation.
This service is a solemn, yet hopeful reminder of the sacrifices made for our freedom and the eternal hope we find in Christ’s victory over death.”
The Salvation Army will be providing complimentary coffee and donuts to attendees beginning at 7 a.m.
In addition to the Easter Sunrise Service, The Salvation Army will also hold church services on Easter at 11 a.m. at the following locations:
• Citadel Corps, 1019 N. Moore Road;
• East Lake Corps, 2140 E. 28th St.; and
• Cleveland Corps, 437 Inman St. in Cleveland.
