During March Jehovah’s Witnesses launched a campaign to invite fellow residents of Chattanooga to a special events next Sunday.
"On Sunday, March 24, millions of Jehovah’s Witnesses around the world will gather to commemorate the death of Jesus Christ, an observance Jesus himself instituted in the Gospels," officials said.
“Worldwide the Memorial is a very special event for Jehovah’s Witnesses,” said Rafael Cueto, local spokesperson for Jehovah’s Witnesses. “In appreciation for Jesus’ sacrifice we invite our family members, co-workers and neighbors to join us in remembering this solemn and joyful occasion.”
"The annual observance of the Lord’s Evening Meal will feature a talk highlighting the significance of Jesus’ death and what it means for all of mankind," officials said.
Free and open to the public, the one-hour event will begin and conclude with prayer.
"Before the Memorial, a special talk titled, “The Resurrection—Victory Over Death," was delivered at local Kingdom Halls this past weekend.
The 30-minute, Bible-based public talk focused on the scriptural hope of a resurrection of the dead in the near future," officials said.
