Spencer Wayne
Spencer Wayne, 33, of Jasper, Tennessee, died on Monday, September 17, 2018.
A 2004 graduate of Marion County High School, he continued his education at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, graduating in 2007. A longtime employee in the Food Service industry, he worked for over 16 years at the Western Sizzlin’ in Jasper, Tn., becoming general manager in 2011 and part owner in 2014. He was a longtime member of Marion Lodge #515 F&AM and attended First Baptist Church in South Pittsburg. He loved playing music and was an avid hunter and UT football fan.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Joyce Wayne and Nell Burnette.
He is survived by his wife, Cheetah Fletcher Wayne; children, Chandler Zella Wayne and John Spencer Wayne; parents, Robert Spencer and Rosa Nell Wayne; brother, Scott Stephens; half-brother, George Walter Stephens, Jr.; nephews, Everett and Thatcher Stephens; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Doug and Sheila Fletcher; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gwen and Jason Ramsey; niece, Emilia Ramsey; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, Sept. 19, from 2–8 p.m. Central time at the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home. A masonic service will be held at the funeral home at 7 p.m. central time on Wednesday. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. central until the time of service.
Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church, South Pittsburg at 2 p.m. central time on Thursday, Sept. 20, with Reverend Brad Bridgman officiating. Interment will follow at Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball, Tn.
