The Chattanooga Police Department welcomes Officer Trevor Tomas to the Communications team. Officer Tomas' primary role as Public Information Officer (PIO) will be to support crime prevention messaging and incident response. He will also serve as the primary point of contact for police-related incidents and reports and will respond to crime or traffic incidents as deemed necessary by the department. Officer Tomas is replacing former PIO Rob Simmons who is now working as an investigator in the CPD Robbery Unit.

Officer Tomas has served the citizens of Chattanooga for nearly five years as a Neighborhood Policing Officer in the Adam North zone.
Along with PIO duties, Officer Tomas will continue to serve as a member of the CPD Special Operations Response Team and as a Crisis Intervention Team officer. Mr. Tomas earned his undergraduate degree from Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, and master's degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va.

Officer Tomas looks forward to making time over the coming months to meet Chattanooga area media members so productive relationships between CPD and the media continue.
