U.S Army Veteran Was Avid Golfer And Longtime Softball Coach

Donald D. Williams, 85, passed away on September 15, 2018.

He was born in Birchwood, Tn., on August 26, 1933, to the late Foster and Belle Williams. He graduated from Birchwood High School. Donald was an avid golfer and a long time softball coach in Chattanooga and was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Alice Clingan Williams, as well as two sisters, Lillian Hutson and Lois Durand, and a brother, Belvin Williams.

Survivors include his daughters, Vicki Cooke and Brenda Cotter (Chris Burdge) and nephew, Tony Norman.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Sept. 19, from 1-3 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson.

Graveside funeral services will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
