Cleveland State's women's volleyball team will open its season against Hiwassee College on Aug. 22

This is the second season for the women's volleyball team at Cleveland State as their inaugural season began in 2017.

The Lady Cougars finished their first season with a 15-6 record while holding a 7-2 record at home.

Hiwassee College finished last season with an 11-11 record with an 8-8 road record. Cleveland State opened their season last year against the same Hiwassee Tigers and won by a score of 3 sets to 0. Cleveland State will look to repeat this result as they prepare for their 2018 home opener.

The Lady Cougars will be much more experienced this season as seven players return for their second year at Cleveland State. New arrivals in Aly Lemons, Hailey Galvan and CSCC women's basketball player, Peyton Eads will look to assist in another successful volleyball season.

Cleveland State's matchup against Hiwassee College will take place on Aug. 22, at 7 p.m. at home in the L. Quentin Lane Gymnasium.
