Thurman, Albert (Dayton)

Albert Thurman, 68, of Dayton passed away unexpectedly June 14, 2018.

He was born in Pikeville and was a life-long resident of Dayton. Albert loved woodworking, gardening and playing music, especially playing the fiddle, banjo and guitar. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilker and Mayme Thurman; and two brothers, Randall and Wallace “Jr.” Thurman. 

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 41 years, Phyllis Thurman of Dayton; a brother, Jerry Thurman (Maida) of Spring City; two sisters, Jean Nichols (Kenneth) of Dayton and Loretta Wood of Spring City; and the love of Mama and Pawpaw’s life, C.J. 

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, June 17, at Bowers Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at the funeral home Monday, June 18, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Max Redman officiating. Burial will follow in Worthington Cemetery in Pikeville.
