Coffee County Meth Dealer Gets 130-Month Federal Prison Term

  • Monday, May 21, 2018

A 61-year-old Coffee County meth dealer has been sentenced to served 130 months in federal prison.

Danny Vernon Moore appeared before Judge Sandy Mattice at the Federal Courthouse in Chattanooga.

Moore had initially faced from 188-235 months, but the judge gave him certain credits that were not opposed by prosecutor Michael Porter.

In a search of Moore's residence on July 5, 2016, authorities found 44 grams of "very pure" meth as well as digital scales and $1,342 cash.

Judge Mattice said through his life Moore has had "many serious run-ins with the law."

On the other hand, attorney Chris Lanier said Moore did "kind, generous and good things for people."
