William Francis Mahn, Jr. died peacefully on April 19, 2018, at Erlanger following a brief illness. He was 74.

Known as Will, Willie, and Bill to family, friends, and co-workers, he was the first of seven children born to Helen O'Grady Mahn and William. F. Mahn. Will was born in Stamford, Ct., on Dec. 15, 1943.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Durand Mahn, their two children, Will III and Jana, his two daughters, Christie Sell (Kurt Faires) and Kelly Dibrell (Scott) by Kay Cordell Mahn, and five grandchildren, Samantha and Thomas Sell and Eli, Nicholas and Lucy Dibrell.  He is also survived by his mother, Helen, and siblings, Michael (Elaine), Kathleen, Edward (Jane) and Gloria Culpepper (Butch) and numerous nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Patrick and Robert, preceded Will in death.

Will was an exceptionally talented athlete. In his youth, he was a member of the OLPH football team that won the Pop Warner National Championship. He was a multi-year letterman on the Notre Dame High School basketball and baseball teams. Will attended UTK and graduated from the University of Chattanooga. He proudly served with the U.S. Army National Guard during the Vietnam era and later became a purchasing executive at TVA from which he retired.

Will was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and an avid Vols and Moes fan. He had a deep understanding of the mentally challenged stemming from the condition of his late brother, Bobby, and the inspiration of his parents, who were among the founding members of the Orange Grove Center. Donations to the Orange Grove Center or the Knights of Columbus are suggested in lieu of flowers.

The Requiem Mass will be on Monday, April 23, at 11a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 501 South Moore Road. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. in the Holy Family Hall and from noon until 1:30 p.m. in the Parish Life Center.
