Evelyn Jean Stafford McAbee Thacker, 93, of Chattanooga, went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2018. 

She was born in Rossville, to the late Vance and Clara Ann Stafford and was 1941 graduate of Rossville High School. She attended Red Bank Baptist Church and was a member of the Hope Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Thacker was also preceded in death by her first husband, R.C. McAbee; second husband, Rev. T.A. Thacker; and brothers, Leland Stafford and William Ray Stafford.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sister, Mildred S. Varnell; brother, Thomas J Stafford and his wife Jane N.; four nephews; three nieces; and a host of friends and loved ones.

The family will receive friends from 2–6 p.m. on Wednesday in the Serenity Room of Lane Funeral Home on Ashland Terrace.

A graveside funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park on Hogan Road in Rossville, with Reverend Bill Harvey officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Red Bank Baptist Church Building Fund, 4000 Dayton Blvd., Red Bank, Tn. 37415.
