Shirley Louise Jones Martin White, 83, of Hixson, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, in Rome, Georgia.

Shirley was born in San Diego, to the late Robert and Irene Jones.  She retired from TVA.  Shirley was a member of Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church in Rome, Georgia.  She enjoyed line dancing and square dancing. 

Shirley is survived by her husband, Sanford White; children, Donald “Skip” (Julie) Martin, Jr., Robert “Bob” (Donna) Martin and Lance Martin; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy “Dot” Carter and Marilyn (Josh) Forehand;

The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A celebration of Shirley’s life will follow at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the North Chapel.  Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Student Scholarship Fund at Shorter University, 315 Shorter Ave, Rome, Ga. 30165, www.shorter.edu.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
