The Knoll is the next phase of development at Black Creek (formerly Cummings Cove) in Lookout Valley.
The Planning Commission on Monday approved the subdivision plat with its 67 lots.
The Knoll will be on 24 acres off of River Gorge Drive, leading to the top of Aetna Mountain where a much larger development is eventually planned.
Officials said, "Explore The Knoll, the next neighborhood being built in the Black Creek Community. Architecture and landscape will be clean and fit in with the natural surroundings.
"From The Knoll there will be views to downtown Chattanooga, Lookout Valley, Lookout Mountain, and the adjacent Raccoon Mountain."
