Lester Everett Cobble, 91, of Ringgold, formerly of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at his home. He was a life-long resident of the Chattanooga/North Georgia area. Mr. Cobble was a member at Concord Baptist Church for many years and currently a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman 1st Class. He was an avid fan of Tennessee Volunteer football and basketball.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jimmie Geer Cobble; parents, Horace and Grace Boone Cobble; son, Gary Cobble; sister, Jewell Benefield; and brothers, Paul and Jake Cobble.
Survivors include his daughters, Leslie (Rex) Gaither, of Smyrna and Joy (Mike) Hamill, of Ringgold; grandchildren, Hillary (Brad) Warren, of Murfreesboro, Josh Hamill, of Ringgold, Ryan Gaither, of Smyrna, Jason (Emily) Hamill, of Chattanooga; great-grandchildren, Lana, Clay, Drew and Seth Warren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Chuck Smith and Rev. Brad Warren officiating. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
