The Progressive Ministry of New Monumental Baptist Church will host a breast cancer awareness forum that celebrates the lives of breast cancer survivors and raise awareness about how important early detection is in the treatment of this disease.
The forum will be on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 10 a.m.-p.m. at the church.
A complementary healthy box lunch will be provided, along with educational and promotional material about breast health.
Also addressed will be cancer prevention and treatment topics facilitated by local physicians in the city.
Officials said, "It is our goal to provide education to our church and the community on the importance of self – care, breast cancer awareness / prevention and to take a moment to celebrate the many victors who have fought to overcome adversity and won by conquering their battle against breast cancer."
