Property Crimes investigators with the Chattanooga Police Department have been working in cooperation with members of the North Chattanooga community to solve several burglaries in the area. Police were informed early this week of several car break-ins as well as residential burglaries which have occurred in the area of the 1100 block of Fairmont Street.

Tips from community members led to the identification of a single suspect who quickly became the prime suspect for potentially eight burglaries in Chattanooga.

Leads gathered from these community members led to the arrest of Ricky Lebron Davis, 31, within 32 hours of the start of the investigation. Investigators are looking at evidence which may connect Davis to other burglaries in the area.

Davis has an extensive history of theft charges in Hamilton County. Investigators believe however, that many victims may have not reported thefts in this area which may be attributed to Davis' actions.

Preliminary charges include aggravated burglary, theft over $1000, with additional charges to be determined.

Officials encourage all citizens to report crimes, no matter how small, to the Chattanooga Police Department so that we can build a complete case against offenders. Often times, a single suspect will be responsible for multiple crimes in a neighborhood and every report from our citizens builds a stronger case against these perpetrators.
