The Chattanooga Zoo will host its first after-hours event dedicated to animal enrichment, Beast Feast. Beast Feast at the Chattanooga Zoo will take place on Friday, Sept. 15, from 6-8 p.m.
At Beast Feast, guests will have the opportunity to observe the carnivores exercise their naturalistic
behaviors and indulge in carcass feedings. Throughout the entire evening, guests will learn from zookeepers why carcass feedings and other animal enrichment is vital for the physical, emotional, and mental health of the animals.
In addition to the enrichment activities, Beast Feast will offer the opportunity to purchase food and
drinks at the zoo’s restaurant, Wild Burger, and refreshment carts. There will also be cash bars that will serve beer and wine.
"Carcass feedings are very common enrichment practices within many AZA accredited zoos," said Chattanooga Zoo's CEO and President, Dardenelle Long. "Carcass feedings simulate feedings that would take place in an animal’s natural habitat in the wild, and we are excited to have the opportunity to share this experience with our community."
Beast Feast tickets are now available for purchase online or in the Zoo Gift Shop during normal operating hours (9 a.m.-5 p.m.). Tickets will be sold at the door if not sold out.
