Waterhouse Public Relations has expanded its communications team with the addition of Desireé Colón as an account executive.
Ms. Colón will be responsible for the day-to-day activity and delivery for numerous client accounts. She will work directly with the agency’s vice president to develop and implement integrated campaigns for these accounts.
“Desireé is a well-rounded public relations practitioner and a great addition to our dynamic team,” said Amanda Plecas, vice president of Waterhouse Public Relations.
“She has a track record of developing extremely successful campaigns and managing major events. We are excited to offer her talents to Waterhouse clients across the southeast.”
Prior to joining the Waterhouse team, Ms. Colón was the marketing and special events coordinator for three years at Habitat for Humanity in Cleveland. In this role, she developed traditional and digital media marketing strategies; managed multiple special events; led fundraising committees; and implemented strategic community relations tactics.
Ms. Colón serves on the Cleveland Media Association board of directors as the public relations co-chair, and she was a chamber ambassador for the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce for two years. Ms. Colón was honored as the professional sponsor for the 2014-15 Lee University Bateman team.
She holds a bachelor of arts in public relations with a minor in business administration from Lee University in Cleveland, where she was awarded the Public Relations Award of Excellence.
