State A-AA Tennis: CCS Girls, Signal Mountain Boys Finish Second

Chattanooga Christian Girls and Signal Mountain Boys won district, region, sectional and state semifinal matches, lost in the state finals here Wednesday at Old Fort Park Tennis Complex, but the future is bright for both programs.

Girls Final: Knox Catholic 4, CCS 0 … With talented seniors playing at Nos. 1-2-3 singles positions, defending state champs Knox Catholic defeated CCS, 4-0.

“We had a great year and I am proud of how we played and what we accomplished,” said CCS first year coach Melanie Reynolds.

CCS returns its top five players - Bailey Dishmon, Addie Henry, Olivia Torbett, Olivia Underwood and Ashley Rice.

Boys Final: CAK 4, Signal Mountain 1   Coach Jordan Willcutt and the Signal Mountain players reached the state tournament for the first time in school history and returns four of the top five players who played in the state tournament – Grant William, Thomas Thelen, Gabe William and Carson Williams - for the 2018 season.

“We had a great season (11-2), lost only to McCallie and CAK and we look forward to next season,” said Willcutt.
