Rickey Eugene Cope, Sr., 57, of Ringgold passed away suddenly Friday, May 19, 2017. He was of the Baptist faith.
Rickey was the current store manager at the Shop-Rite Food Center in Dayton, TN. He was a hard worker and a huge Tennessee Vols fan. He was a former coach for little league sports at the Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe P.R.A.
He was preceded in death by his father, John W. Sparks; grand-parents, John and Grace Horton.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Sparks, of Ringgold; three children, Dawn (Robert) Green, of Ringgold, Kristy (Rick) Norris, of Ringgold and Rickey “Bo” (Amy) Cope, Jr., of Flintstone; siblings, Johnny Young, of Ringgold, Donna (Mike) Farmer, of Ringgold, Debbie (Jimmy) Dickerson, of Lavonia, GA., Gail Kilgore, of Rossville and Johnny Cope, of Ringgold; step-brother, John (Cindy) Sparks, of Ringgold; four grandchildren, Tyler Norris, Macey Cope, Caden Norris and Bodey Cope; special nephews, Dr’s Robb (Lora) Hutcherson, Jr. and Josh Hutcherson; many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins survive.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, May 21, from 2-8 p.m., and on Monday, May 22, up to the hour of service at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 22, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mike Gregg officiating. Pallbears will be fellow co-workers from Shop-Rite.
Interment will follow in the Lakewood Memory Gardens, East Cemetery.
