Bradley Wins Twice In Ooltewah Invitational Baseball

Bears "Double" Down On Bearden, Central Magnet

Bradley Central posted two wins Saturday in the Ooltewah Invitational.

The Bears (9-2) beat Murfreesboro Central Magnet 10-9 in a six-inning game at the Toby McKenzie Baseball Complex. Later, Bradley defeated Bearden 3-1 in a contest that saw all the scoring come in the first inning.

In the first game, Bradley put together three consecutive doubles that produced four of the five runs.

Starting pitcher Andy Bunch and Riley Black stroked two-run doubles and Dylan Standifer drove in one run with his two-bagger.

Standifer went 2-for-4 and scored twice in the game. Colton Cross drove in a run with a double while Caleb Reed had a run-scoring hit and scored twice.

Haydon Locum belted a grand slam for the Tigers, who hurt themselves with six errors.

In the first inning against Bearden, Standifer and Cason Still had back-to-back hits and Standifer scored on Riley Black’s RBI single. Pete Williams added a run-scoring hit and Jake Pressley drove in the third run with an infield groundout.

Standifer (1-0) picked up the win by pitching a four-hitter and striking out four.
