YMCA Of Metropolitan Chattanooga Welcomes New CFO And CMO To Leadership Team

The YMCA of Metropolitan Chattanooga welcomes Jordan Pierce as the organization’s new chief financial officer and Marissa Bell as the new chief marketing officer.

“Jordan and Marissa are great additions to our leadership team who will help achieve our vision to serve 25,000 more people by 2028,” said Baron Herdelin-Doherty, president and CEO of the YMCA of Metropolitan Chattanooga. “Their extensive experience and dedication to our community align perfectly with our mission of promoting youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We look forward to their contributions as we continue to serve our region.”

Mr. Pierce joins the Y with a background in financial management and strategic planning. With nearly seven years of experience at the Electric Power Board, he served in various capacities, including manager of financial reporting and rates, assistant controller and corporate accountant. During his tenure at EPB, Mr. Pierce played a role in overseeing the budget process and financial reporting for a $1 billion balance sheet. His contributions extended to designing and implementing innovative rate and pricing mechanisms for both electric and fiber optic customer bases.

Prior to his work at EPB, Mr. Pierce was an accountant at Mauldin & Jenkins. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting and finance from UTC as well as an MBA from Mississippi State University. He is a certified public accountant and a graduate of the UTC Executive Leadership Program. Additionally, Mr. Pierce contributes his expertise to the EPB Employee Credit Union Audit Committee and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Ms. Bell brings more than 13 years of diverse communication experience to her role as CMO at the Y. Her background spans public relations, marketing, digital media, broadcasting and crisis communications. Previously, she led a team at Waterhouse PR, focusing on strategy, business development, PR and marketing across various industries.

Her prior work experience also includes marketing and communications roles at the Chattanooga Tourism Co. and the Chattanooga Mayor’s Office. Ms. Bell’s commitment to community engagement is evident through her involvement with various organizations such as Girls on the Run of Southeast Tennessee and as a Chattanooga Chamber board member. She is chair-elect of the Public Relations Society of America Lookout Chapter and is accredited in public relations from PRSA. Ms. Bell holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Tennessee and a master’s in corporate and organizational communication from Northeastern University.
