Willis Grant

Willis Grant, 87, passed away on March 23, 2017.

He was retired from Combustion Engineering, was a U.S Army veteran, and was a 1947 graduate of Soddy Daisy High School. He loved horseshoe pitching, becoming a member of the Tennessee Horseshoe Pitching Hall of Fame; he was also an avid fan of all sports and supported all of Soddy-Daisy’s sports programs. Willis was a very caring a giving man, a friend to all.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Grant; a son, Roger Grant; parents, Willie and Ida Grant; brothers, Norris, Granville, Kermit, and Bruce Grant; and sisters, Mildred Green and Rosalee Smith.

Survivors include his daughter, Carol (Jerry) Wright; sister, Mary Sutherland; grandchildren, Travis Beene and Christi Grant; six great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; and his step-son, Lebron Grant. 

Services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 26. Internment will follow at Varner Cemetery.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 2-9 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, at the funeral home.
